I guess this is how EA was originally “teh worst company evar” and now is “teh bestest comapny evar” with all the games they’re releasing in the upcoming months.

Not sure I understand this one… Then again, it appears to be Playstation-related, and I’m more up on Nintendo news than anything else.

Well… the “guardian” appears to be the shapes found on the Sony consoles’ controllers… but that is all I got out of this. No idea what the castle is supposed to represent, or the crystals surrounding it.

The two vidcons in the last panel appear to be the ones talking earlier… despite the fact that the guardian’s “Death Beam” looks rather menacing. I’m not sure if it means anything, but the area surrounding the castle looks rather different when comparing the first and last panel.

I agree with the assessment that this is referencing EA’s cancellation of C&C: Tiberium. The disc-vidcons represent PCs (or PC gamers) and the Guardian is the old Electronic Arts logo…
As for the landscape change, the crystals (representing tiberium) disappeared…
I think it’s pretty clear.

My guess is little big planet, based on the trees that appear.

Wow, there really are people out there who don’t recognize the old EA logo and are confusing it with the Sony Playstation buttons? REALLY?

Gneekman’s analysis sounds right to me. Also, glad to finally see another comic. I thought someone must have died or something.

3DO? Little Big Planet? Playstation?

It’s people like you who ruin my games.

I’m so amazed by the ignorance shown in the comments, I was compelled to post to point it out. Those are tiberium crystals and that’s the old Electronic Arts logo.

Tyler typically does a funny, layered comic, but this one is so obtuse it crosses over into laziness. You can do better than this man.

I see Tyler agrees with my opinion that the Tiberium storyline sucks dick, ESPECIALLY compared to the glory of red alert.

I didn’t even realize that the area around the castle changed in the last panel. Now I got it.

Interesting tid-bit: In Ultima 7 you had to gather the 3 parts EA’s logo to summon The Guardian.

In the first panel it’s dark and it rains.
The vidcons are desperate.
The guardian spares no-one in these times refers to the lay-off of 600 EA employees.
When they emerge tiberium is cancelled and the skies clear up.
