My, oh my, our scribe seems to be have dominated his slothfulness! But now this is surprising seeing a once closed-minded company pushing the limits of creativity. Seems they have switched roles with a company named Activision. How times change when your coffer is light…
I think it’s more a statement on the poor sales of the creative new titles that EA has been picking up lately, rather than it just being about the Dante’s Inferno game.
I think it’s more about how EA must have fooled some suckers into selling them the idea, just to never pay them.
And I’m getting some… Devil May Cry vibes from that game. Granted, saying Devil May Cry is based on Dante’s Inferno is like saying Neon Genesis Evangelion is based on the bible, but the fact that it’s an action game lends itself to some parallels.
Also, I just realized that they are making an action game based on a book that has not that much action. But hey, if they could manage to make a Reservoir Dogs videogame, maybe they could pull this one off.
I think it has more to do with the fact that EA is where good ideas go to die, and all should abandon all hope of seeing them treat good game concepts with the respect they deserve. A good example of this would be the way they dropped Tim Shafers latest game, and are blocking other companies efforts to pick it up.
