First interesting thing Nintendo’s done in ages, and it turns out to be exactly the same thing they did the last two times, only with a train this time instead of a boat.
I fourth zaqu. This use to be my most favorite gaming comic of all time (ranked it higher than Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Del. I view the comic as a TRUE video game comic) until the update stopped coming. Will probably be my favorite again if updates would start coming in again. Or at the very least get a news section on the site where we can atleast be told why there’s no update.
This comic is still my favorite, reguadless of many times its updated. I still check it whenever I can. As long as its still open, I will keep coming back. Keep up the good work, sir.
I didn’t mention CAD and Penny Arcade because of their humor (Awkward Zombie alone is more hilarious than those two put together). I mentioned them more because of their popularity as video game comics. Penny Arcade is clever but not funny. I don’t think CAD sucks, its more alright. All I’m trying to say is, more updates could bring this comic to a level of popularity as CAD and Penny Arcade since it is both clever and hilarious. Anyways, we need more comics. Even if it’s once a week. I mean, I was more hoping to see the writers take on OnLive more rather than the new zelda game. This comic doesn’t even have that old and clever wit in it where you have to read the comments to fully understand the comic. I miss the comics like that.
CAD is terrible in terms of writing and art. PA is levels of magnitude above it in both areas. PA is more of a nerd’s comic though, touching on things like table-top games and the social aspects of gaming and such. VGC is at a similar level, but replace anime with tabletop.
AZ matches PA in terms of art and wit, but also wholly doesn’t follow video games, and uses them more for characters to pull off a separate punchline.
Castle Vidcoms is a true gaming comic though. The problem it faces though is a lack of subject matter in the industry. Especially during certain seasons of the year.
@ Ztuff
I didn’t mention CAD because of it’s humor. I mentioned it because of its popularity (despite it getting a lot of hate that I see, it is still one of the most visited webcomics there is, hence the reason why I brought it up).
And also I would settle for a comic about anything with script and some good old wit in it. Seriously, I miss seeing new updates for this comic. Its a bit saddening to see what I consider the most purest form of video game webcomics out there being so neglected.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who think this game looks awful. I mean, I liked Phantom Hourglass, and I loved the GAMECUBE version of Twilight Princess (no damn waggle controls). It’s like Nintendo is trying harder and harder to alienate their previous fanbase.
Castle Vidcons updates every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 PM and on special occasions. So basically whenever we feel like it
